An aggressive diamond-lug tread delivers superior grip on snow, ice, and mud, with reinforced high-wear zones for lasting durability in rugged terrain.
Fully seals the insulation from both sides, preventing water from flooding in or sweat from soaking through—eliminating the #1 cause of winter boot failure.
Layered insulation traps body heat while blocking the transfer of cold, creating a powerful thermal barrier for extended wear in extreme climates.
Built for the harshest winter environments, the VBX Bunny Boot delivers dependable warmth and comfort in severe subzero conditions, outperforming traditional cold-weather footwear.
The VBX (Vapor Barrier X) system is a waterproof layer that surrounds multi-layer wool insulation, keeping it dry. By blocking outside water and inside perspiration, it preserves warmth and performance in extreme cold, ensuring comfort even in overflow or extended use.
The Original Airboss Bunny Boot has a CLO value of 1.61 and is rated for use in temperatures ranging from -20°F down to -65°F. The AKGC VBX improves slightly on this with a CLO value of 1.79, giving it a comfort range of -25°F to -70°F. For maximum insulation, the AKGC VBX Max is the warmest model, with a CLO value of 2.14 and a rating of -34°F to -79°F. The AKGC VBX Composite follows closely, offering a CLO value of 2.01 and a comfort range of -30°F to -75°F. Finally, the AKGC VBX LITE is designed as a lighter, more mobile option, with a CLO value of 1.36 and a range of -5°F to -50°F.
The VBX LITE offers a lower-profile design with reduced weight, making it versatile for moderate cold and more active use. Our VBX LITE is an everyday winter use boot.
The VBX LITE offers daily winter users with comfort, warmth, and versatility. Whether you’re at a hockey game, grabbing drinks at the brewery outside, enjoying some light hiking or shoveling your driveway, they will keep your feet warm and dry without compromising on style.
They’re constructed from a proprietary vulcanized rubber that resists cracking in extreme cold and provides a strong waterproof barrier.
All models are tested in real Arctic conditions as well as lab environments to run modern thermal testing with U.S. based footwear scientists for durability, insulation, fit, puncture, and slip resistance.
No, VBX Boots do not use Thinsulate. VBX boots keep you warm with a proven multilayer insulation system - built to perform where other materials can’t. Unlike synthetic fibers such as Thinsulate, which lose their effectiveness when exposed to the heat of vulcanization, our insulation stays durable, reliable, and ready for the cold.
The innovative Vapor Barrier X (VBX) technology prevents condensation from penetrating and freezing in the inner insulation layer, ensuring consistent warmth. The multilayer insulation system effectively blocks heat transfer, keeping the cold out while retaining warmth inside the boot. The boots feature vented hydrophobic insoles that keep feet dry and supported, as well as reinforcement of high-impact areas of the outsoles for enhanced comfort during prolonged wear.
For best results, clean your VBX Bunny Boots using a soft brush and warm water with mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaners, as they can damage the rubber exterior. After use, remove the insoles and allow both the boots and insoles to dry completely before storing. Always store in a cool, dry place to maintain performance and extend the life of your boots.
We recommend synthetic or wool blend socks that wick moisture. Avoid cotton. For very cold conditions, a thin liner sock plus a thicker insulating sock works well. Always ensure there’s enough room to maintain circulation.
Yes. While VBX Bunny Boots come with a built-in liner system, they can accommodate aftermarket insoles or orthotics for added arch support or custom fit, just be sure not to compress insulation too much.

VBX System
Our proprietary VBX (Vapor Barrier X) system encases the multi-layer wool insulation in a moisture-proof barrier, blocking both outside water and inside perspiration. This keeps insulation completely dry, ensuring lasting warmth and uncompromised performance in the harshest winter conditions.
Fully Waterproof
Fully constructed with vulcanized rubber, these boots are 100% waterproof and have greater abrasion resistance and elasticity in cold temperatures.
Multi-Layer Insulation
The multi-layer insulation system prevents heat transfer by shielding against frigid exterior temperatures while retaining heat inside the boot.
Ergonomic Performance
The boots feature vented hydrophobic ergonomic insoles designed to keep your feet dry and supported for superior comfort and performance.
True Fit Insoles
These insoles come in two sizes: standard and downsized. Advanced design allows for a comfort fit unmatched by similar cold weather footwear.

Very few worries thanks
Just opened them out of the box and tried them on, wore for 30 minutes. Feel pretty warm inside, but size seems to run a little large. I got a size 10 since I’m usually 9.5 and I can’t lace it tight. When I pull the laces tight as possible there is still a one inch gap between the tongue and my shin. I’m 6 ft and 200lbs, my calves aren’t huge but not super skinny so I’m surprised the boot can’t be tied snug on my leg. I’ll have to buy the insoles but not sure that will fix the gap. I guess I’d have to buy the gaiters so snow doesn’t get in the gap. I watched one of AGC’s testing videos and it sounds like they wanted to keep the upper part flexible for comfortable hiking.
BUNNY BOOT VBX LITE
VBX LITE
This is a very good boot and they are very comfortable.
They are not even close to the warmth of the original black GI boot. They are similar or slightly less warm than just about any other winter boot. The bonus is, the insulation stays dry. Buy them big and supplement them with high quality insulated Socks.
My go to boot is still the original BATA GI surplus boot.
I am waiting for the regular VBX to be offered in black. I am anxious to try them.
Until then the original GI surplus is still my choice.
The only reason I'm searching beyond the original GI surplus is due to lack of availability and fast tread wear.
Pics show size and tread comparison to some GI originals and Dunlop purofort thermal plus.
These are the best boots I've ever had they are awesome looking seem pretty durable you guys did a great job
