We want to see your best photos and videos of the Last Frontier: the vast landscapes, people living on the edge, wild animals, and moments that only Alaska can deliver.

Enter the submission form below on this page. Each entry may submit up to 5 photos or short form videos (under 30 seconds.) You may enter for both categories by submitting 2 separate entries.
The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid photography expedition with KAR Safaris, to photograph Muskox in Fall Foliage in Nome, Alaska. The expedition will take place September 10-14th, 2027.

Voting
The Alaska Gear Company team will select the top 10 finalists in the photo and short-form video categories. All finalists will have their images/video shared on AKGC social media.
Then, the decision’s yours. Voting will open to the public on November 10th, and the single photo or video with the most votes will receive the grand prize. Runners-up in each category will be awarded second and third place. Winners will be announced on November 18th, 2026.

1. Eligibility
The Alaska Gear Company “Untamed” Photo & Video Contest (the
“Contest”) is open only to legal residents of the United States and Canada who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
2. Agreement to Rules
By submitting an entry, you agree to be fully and unconditionally
bound by these Submission Terms & Conditions (these “Rules”), and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. You agree to accept the decisions of Alaska Gear Company, LLC (“AKGC” or “Sponsor”) as final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.
3. Submission Period
Entries will be accepted beginning October 1, 2026 at 12:00 a.m.
Alaska Time and ending October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Alaska Time (the “Submission Period”). Entries received before or after the Submission Period will not be considered.
4. How to Enter
To enter, you must submit your photo(s) and/or video(s) through the official Contest submission form located at [ENTRY FORM URL] (the “Entry Form”). Each entrant may submit up to 5 photo(s) and/or short-form video(s) (each under 30 seconds in length) during the Submission Period. Entries must be your own original work, must feature subject matter located in Alaska, and must not infringe the rights of any third party. Entries that are incomplete, do not meet these specifications, or do not otherwise adhere to these Rules may be disqualified at Sponsor’s sole discretion. You may not submit more entries than permitted by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices to circumvent these Rules; any attempt to do so may result in disqualification.
5. Content Guidelines
Entries should reflect the Contest theme of Alaska’s untamed landscapes, wildlife, and moments — captured with the grit, patience, and authenticity the Contest celebrates. Entrants are encouraged, but not required, to share their entry on social media using the hashtag #AKGCUntamed and tagging
@AlaskaGearCompany; doing so does not affect the entrant’s chances of being selected as a Finalist. Entries that include or consist of photos or videos generated, in whole or in part, by artificial intelligence (AI) tools will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
6. Selection of Finalists
Following the close of the Submission Period, a panel selected by AKGC will review all eligible entries and select ten (10) finalists across the photo and short-form video categories combined (the “Finalists”), based on criteria including creativity, originality, technical quality, and how well the entry embodies the Contest theme, as determined by AKGC in its sole discretion.
Finalists will be selected on October 16th, 2026 and notified and
their entries will be featured on AKGC’s social media channels for the public voting round described in the Contest’s separate Voting Terms & Conditions. Selection as a Finalist does not guarantee any prize; prizes are awarded based on the outcome of public voting as set forth in the Voting Terms & Conditions.
7. Voting Terms & Conditions:
No purchase is necessary to vote. Public voting for the AKGC "Untamed" Photo & Video Contest opens October 17, 2026 and closes October 25, 2026. Each person may cast one (1) vote per email address; AKGC reserves the right to void any votes it determines, in its sole discretion, were cast fraudulently or in violation of these terms. The single photo or video entry receiving the most votes will be awarded the grand prize, and the runners-up in each category (photo and video) will be awarded second and third place. All prize decisions are final and made at AKGC's sole discretion. Void where prohibited by law.
8. Award Structure & Prizes (Overview)
The Contest will award one (1) grand prize winner and four (4) runner-up winners (five (5) winners total), determined by public vote as set forth in the Contest’s Voting Terms & Conditions. The four runner-up winners consist of: second place in the photo category, second place in the video category, third place in the photo category, and third place in the video category. In brief: the grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid photography expedition with KAR Safaris (see Section 8 below for additional grand prize terms); second place winners will each receive a $500 AKGC gift credit plus a pair of VBX Bunny Boots of their choosing; third place winners will each receive a $100 AKGC gift card plus a pair of VBX Bunny Boots of their choosing. All prizes are subject to the full prize terms set forth in these Rules and in the Voting Terms & Conditions.
9. Grand Prize: KAR Safaris Expedition –
Additional Terms
The Contest’s grand prize is an all-expenses-paid photography
expedition with KAR Safaris to photograph muskox in fall foliage near Nome, Alaska, taking place September 10-14th, 2027 (approximate value $3,750).
The following additional terms apply to the grand prize:
- No Equipment Provided. AKGC does not provide any photography, camping, cold-weather, or other equipment or gear for the expedition. The winner is solely responsible for arranging and providing their own equipment and gear.
- Flights: AKGC will book and pay for the winner’s flights directly and will purchase flight insurance on the winner’s behalf.
-Lodging. If a hotel stay is required as a result of flight scheduling (e.g., layovers, early arrival, or delayed return),the winner is responsible for booking and paying for that hotel stay.
- Food. All meals are included in the
photography package expedition. Any meals during flight travel or layovers are responsible of the winner.
- Cancellation; No Cash Value. If KAR or winner cancels the expedition for any reason, the trip will not be rescheduled, and no changes will be made to the prize. The grand prize has no cash value and is not exchangeable, transferable, or redeemable for any other prize or benefit, for any reason.
- The expedition remains subject to availability, scheduling by KAR Safaris, and any additional terms, conditions, waivers, or releases required by KAR Safaris.
10. Grand Prize Notification & Acceptance
The grand prize winner will be notified by October 27th, 2026 via the email address associated with their Contest entry. The winner must respond to accept the grand prize within forty-eight (48) hours of AKGC’s notification email. If the selected winner does not respond via email within 48 hours, the winner forfeits the grand prize, and AKGC will notify the next-highest-voted entry (the first runner-up) as the new grand prize winner, who will then have 48 hours to respond under these same terms. This process may continue at AKGC’s discretion until a winner accepts the grand prize or all eligible Finalists have been exhausted.
11. Rights Granted by You
By submitting an entry, you grant AKGC, and anyone acting on its
behalf, a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, publish, broadcast, distribute, and display your entry —including your name, likeness, voice, and any statements you make about the Contest — in any media now known or later developed, for advertising, publicity, promotional, and trade purposes, without further notice, review, consent, or compensation, except where prohibited by law. You represent that you own or have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your entry does not infringe any third party’s rights.
12. Terms
AKGC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate,
modify, or suspend the Contest — or any portion of it — should a virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud, or any other cause beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest. AKGC reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with, or attempts to tamper with, the entry process or the operation of the
Contest, or who violates these Rules. By entering, you agree to receive emails and SMS messages periodically from AKGC; you may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or replying STOP to any SMS.
13. Limitation of Liability
By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless AKGC and its
subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage arising, directly or indirectly, from: (i) your participation in the Contest; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software; (iii) unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmission, telephone, or internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in the entry process; or (v) any electronic or human error in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries.
14. Disputes
This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the
State of Alaska, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. As a condition of participating, you agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved between the parties, and any cause of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively in a court located in Alaska with jurisdiction. You waive any right to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including attorneys’ fees, other than actual out-of-pocket costs associated with entering the Contest, and you waive any right to have damages multiplied or increased.
