The ABI-199-62A wheel and brake kit is a popular and dependable replacement for the original Cleveland 199-62A kit. These wheels are designed for off-airport operations and are made from corrosion-resistant aluminum creating a longer lifespan and better performance in wet and salty environments when compared to the original Cleveland magnesium wheels. They also come with double-puck brakes that provide strong stopping power in rugged terrain.
The ABI-199-62A Wheel and Brake Kit is designed to replace the existing Cleveland 199-62A wheel and brake kit in aircraft. Unlike the traditional magnesium construction of the Cleveland kit, ABI-199-62A is made from aluminum. This choice of material, while slightly increasing the weight, significantly improves corrosion resistance, making it a suitable option for aircraft used in wet and salty conditions, especially those involved in backcountry flying.
This kit is compatible with a range of Piper Aircraft Series, including J-3, J3C, PA-11, PA-12, PA-14, PA-16, and PA-18, as well as certain Cessna Aircraft Series, like 170, 172, 180, and specific 185 models, the recently awarded STC further expands the range of eligible models (please refer to the AML for a comprehensive list).
The ABI-199-62A Wheel & Brake Kit includes two ABI 40-75T 6" wheel assemblies and two ABI 30-52N brake assemblies, complete with all the necessary components such as bearings, races, and bolts for installation.
