This shock cord is made of numerous strands of natural rubber, bound into a circular skein for flexibility. The braided cover is constructed with high grade yarn and meets MIL-C-5651B, Type II specifications. It is commonly used in cold weather on the landing gear to minimize shock to the fuselage.
